Ok, so this cranky coder is looking to get back into coding.  I got my iphone (love it i must say) and I am interested in iphone dev now.  Funny thing is a customer actually asked me today if we do any iphone dev.  Looks like my calling is .. calling?  man that made no sense.  Oh well. 

 

So hopefully i will be able to get into doing some iphone dev here soon and will post some of my junk up here as well.

Christmas Day 2007.   Another Christmas come and gone. Family is getting bigger.   At moms this year there was Me, Stacy, Will, Laura, Abel, Christi, Kirsten, Ashryn, Aiden, Mom, Paul More than last year.  Alot of golf stuff for me this year since I finally realized I like to play golf.  (36 Handicap... Shutup, Im a beginner)  You can track your handicap at http://www.fairwayfiles.com. So my second holiday comes in 8 Days.  No, not new years.  Who cares about that.  I mean the greatest of all holidays... the wifes $%^&* is no longer off limits!!!!!  I don't care what you think.... i am gonna attack my wife soon.

Got a few things done today. Worked on the workstation today and got Chips music drive back in it. Got the firewall opened up so I can connect into it and download some music. At 3:00PM today proper connections came out and we got the wiring done for the coffee shop. Lee and his guy Chris did a horrible job on terminating the cables. The ends didn't have the cable sheath even in the end. They had the cables all backwards. We had to reterminate the cables. Once we got the cables reterminated we were able to get the switch above the dry cleaners up and running. We got a hole through the dentist and got the cable to the coffee shop. However the computer Anne has is really old. so we had some problems getting it working and we still can not get it working. I will try another card tomorrow. I got in touch with Rayanne (our accountant) and decided I will take over doing the bills and what not for the company. I will take the bills when they come in, enter them into quickbooks then when I need to have them paid I mark them as paid and mark them to be printed. Then call Rayanne and she prints the checks. The only other thing she does other than that now is my payroll.

Well, the time has come. Here I am 3 Days till I am wed. We are so busy trying to get things ready. Stacy with the wedding, me with making sure this 1 man shop can survive without the 1 man. I haven't been allowed to apply updates to our servers in awhile. I know there are some features in hsphere I could really use that I haven't implemented. But oh well. It will be worth it, on sun we leave from our apartment and head to the air port. We have a short flight into Fort Lauderdale. We will stay at the Days Inn sunday night. Mon morning we will be heading to the Boat. A 6 hour cruise later we will arrive in the bahamas. We are staying on the island for 3 nights, 4 days. Then we cruise back, stay at the Days Inn again and then we fly back on friday. I don't get to take vacations, but I am looking forward to this. I just hope I can relax while we are there since I know if something goes wrong there isn't really anyone to fix it, the best we have is Nancy will have a key to the office to kick the boxes if they die, but that is about it.

I have decided to start using this blog as my work journal. I have found that if I have to write things on paper my hand cramps up. Makes me think about how long it has been since I have had to write anything more than just my signature. Went to home depot to pick up some provisions to hopefully get the cabling done for the retail floor of the KWPH building. LD was supposed to call today at 7:00 AM and let me know if they were gonna be able to do the wiring. Did not recieve the call so I had to make arrangements with proper connections to have them come out to wire up the coffee shop. Lee called and said he was on his way around 2:00PM so we could run the cable. When he got here I gave him the stuff he needed me to pick up, fire caulk and metal conduit. He asked me for a caulk gun, which I do not have, a ladder, nope, a hack saw, no shot. So even though we were gonna try to wire up the nail salon he had none of the tools we needed. So today when proper connections shows up, I will be having them do the coffee shop ($100) and the nail salon ($100). I am only getting $34.95 from these 2 locations each a month, it will take me 3 months to recoop this cost. But I am tired of looking like some asshole who doesn't know what he is doing. I have been telling these people for like 6 months now (probably longer) that I am close to getting the cable to them. So I will have to do this, there is no way I will make them wait until I return from my honey moon. Did some work on an old 266 machine I got from eric and was able to get it to run m0n0wall. I have it completely configured and ready to go to my parents. They need a firewall bad and I need a test bed. So I have gotten this setup for them. I can monitor it and connect to it via vpn. Another beauty is that since it is running off of CD. As we start implementing some of our changes I can just bring a new cd over and reboot the system. I think it will work out beautifully.
